MISFI visits project areas in Northwest Mindanao

The team from Mindanao Interfaith Services Foundation, Inc. (MISFI) visited the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur and Misamis Oriental last July 2 to 5, 2012 as part of the preliminary mapping of its project implementation in ten (10) barangays of the 2 provinces.

The MISFI team, composed of Executive Director Percinita J. Sanchez, Danilo Gumanao, Nathaniel A. Villanueva, Mark Lobetos and Donald Ray Cornelio, made courtesy call to Ozamis City Chief of Staff Miguel B. Ochate, where the project covers four (4) barangays in San Antonio, Catadman, Bañadero and Carmen Annex, all located in the province of Misamis Oriental.

The team also dropped by the office of Tambulig Municipal Disaster Officer Danilo Muñoz where the project covers the six (6) barangays in Gabunon, Tiparak, Balukot and 3 barangays in the Poblacion of the province of Zamboanga del Sur.


The 18-month disaster risk reduction management project covers among others, capacity building among residents of these landslide and flashflood prone areas. The series of trainings will start on August 2012. (by NATHANIEL  A. VILLANUEVA)
